Introducing SAGEA for Learning

Learn more Get involved

Today we are announcing SAGEA for Learning, an initiative to bring our most capable frontier-class models directly into Nepal's academic institutions.

The program will provide students, researchers, and faculty with on-premise access to the same systems deployed in SAGEA's enterprise and research environments. Initial deployments will begin at partner universities, with independent workshops running in parallel.

Background

Despite rapid advances in AI capability, access within academic settings has remained largely limited to consumer-facing interfaces and hosted APIs. For most students and researchers, interaction with frontier systems is mediated by abstractions that constrain experimentation, restrict visibility into system behavior, and limit the depth of engagement possible.

SAGEA for Learning is designed to address this directly.

Under the initiative, SAGEA will deploy its most capable frontier-class models on institutional infrastructure at partner universities. These are not simplified API wrappers or demonstration environments. They are production-grade systems, running locally, with full access for academic use.

Participating institutions will be able to integrate these models into coursework, research workflows, and independent projects. SAGEA will also conduct researcher-led workshops at campuses and independent venues to broaden access beyond formal institutional partnerships.

Each deployment will be shaped by the needs of the partner institution. The program is designed for sustained engagement, not one-time exposure.

All models under SAGEA for Learning run locally on campus infrastructure. No data leaves the institution. System behavior is fully transparent and reproducible — conditions that are essential for serious academic and research use.

This approach also allows institutions to operate independently of external API dependencies, ensuring continuity and control over their own environments.

Rationale

SAGEA believes that progress in AI is strengthened when more communities have the ability to engage with frontier systems directly. Academic institutions play a critical role in training the next generation of researchers and engineers. Ensuring they have access to the most capable tools available is a prerequisite for meaningful participation in the field.

Nepal's academic community should not be limited to observing advances in AI from a distance. SAGEA for Learning is intended to close that gap.

Next steps

SAGEA is actively accepting partnership inquiries from universities, colleges, research institutions, and student organizations across Nepal. Institutions interested in hosting a deployment or workshop can submit an inquiry through the program page.

Further details on the program, including partner announcements and workshop schedules, will be shared in the coming weeks.
